FUKUOKA AIRPORT '30s
The airport of Fukuoka is reserved for water landing aircraft, seaplanes and flying boats. Total area is 24.750 sqm and has a water landing strip extending to 1.500m in any direction inside the eastern part of the Fukuoka harbor. The hangars of the airport cover an area of 2.970 sqm and can provide simple maintenance, refueling and spare parts. In order to operate the seaplanes, two derricks able to lift up to 10 tones are available. Finally, the airport has radio, telephone, telegram and customs facilities as well as a quarantine-medical station.
